As part of our ongoing program of community engagement, member company The Bloomfield Group recently hosted a series of school mine tours co-ordinated by the Upper Hunter Mining Dialogue.

Year 5 students at Singleton Public School toured Bloomfield’s Rix’s Creek Mine, where they were given the opportunity to learn about the benefits of mining and how site impacts are managed.

Students were highly engaged with the tours, which explained mining processes, site rehabilitation and the importance of maintaining positive relationships with neighbouring land owners.
