The Upper Hunter Mining Dialogue’s Joint Advisory Steering Committee (JSAC) held its first meeting for the year this week.
Committee members discussed the participant feedback session from the Dialogue’s 2022 Community Forum in Muswellbrook, reviewing comments and potential actions discussed by the Joint Working Group meetings recently.
With a range of environmental issues raised, as well as economic and social development themes, there are likely be a number of activities the Dialogue can focus on in the year ahead.
Members also received an update on a research project from Liz Watts focusing on sustainable closure, with an update on the progress of this research, and insights from a recent study tour of regions in UK and Germany that have forged different closure pathways to gather background information for this research.
