Upper Hunter Mining Dialogue kicks off 2023 meetings

Members of the Upper Hunter Mining Dialogue’s Joint Environment Working Group and Joint Economic and Social Development Working Group met in Singleton this week for the first meeting of the year.

Both groups discussed feedback provided by industry stakeholders following last year’s Community Forum, particularly around environment, economic and social issues. The feedback will be used to assess issues to prioritise and work towards over the coming years.

The Joint Environment Working Group also had a planning discussion ahead of an upcoming Pasture Restoration Field Day, which will discuss new research and showcase quality pasture establishment across the Upper Hunter to a variety of stakeholders.

The Joint Economic and Social Development Working Group also discussed plans for future joint Chamber and Dialogue procurement-focused events for local suppliers.

The Joint Advisory Steering Committee will hold its next meeting on 15 March.
