The Upper Hunter Mining Dialogue’s School Mine Tours Program is now underway for 2023!

Year 9 students from Muswellbrook High School visited the Bengalla Mine on April 27 and Year 5 students from Aberdeen Public School visited Mt Arthur on May 3.

These are the first of a busy schedule of school mine tours for the year and we thank BHP and Bengalla for hosting them.

The mine tours are offered by the Dialogue to all Year 5 and Year 9 students in the Upper Hunter and give students and their teachers a first-hand look and interactive experiences at a working mine, while learning about the benefits and impacts of mining in the Upper Hunter.

The tours are free, with schools from the Singleton, Muswellbrook and Scone catchments participating in this year’s program.
